Dungeon Siege II is a role-playing game that challenges players to build up their characters in order to defeat evil with good. It features six possible character classes, three solo player campaigns, and an intricate story-driven campaign for up to four players. The game's storyline unfolds in the land of Ehb; an old world where magic is powerful and has shaped everyday life. The world is split into the Kingdom of Ehb, the sprawling Alpine range that protects it, and the vast plains that lie between them. The game takes place in the Kingdom of Ehb, which is divided into ten regions. The primary region is Auriga Crossing; a mountain pass that serves as trade route for trade caravans from all over the kingdom. The Mountains are home to many wild creatures, beasts of both shade and light. Beasts are able to cross great distances, but they are often hunted by townsfolk who are fearful of their abilities. These hunters are led by Baron Brannoch, an influential philanthropist who seeks to preserve life for future generations. The Plains are home to the nomadic Hammiri, who are believed to be the last of an ancient race. However, there are persistent rumors that the Hammiri aren't as primitive as everyone assumes. The Plains are also home to the recently founded town of Bloodstone which is under siege by the powerful Bloodmage clan. This band of orcs is led by Kranxx, who has rallied his clan around him with promises of power and influence for all. To the far west lies Tristram; once a mighty city now fallen into ruin. It now serves as an encampment for adventurers traveling overland between cities in Auriga Crossing and the Elven lands to the west. It is home to the legendary Tristram Cathedral, which has been erected over the ruins of a forgotten temple. The cathedral is home to many of the kingdom's religious leaders, including Archdeacon Larke who guides his flock with words rather than force. To the south lies Farrun; an ancient underground city that was abandoned centuries ago. The ruins are now inhabited by giant spider-like creatures known as spiderspawn. Farrun's spiders are afraid of fire and at night they cower in darkness while day they wander their complex networks of tunnels blindly searching for food. The southern islands are home to the goblin armies of Magistrate Gorag, who maintains his rule by force. His goblins are dutiful but they are also cruel; rarely is anyone seen leaving the islands alive. However, there are persistent rumors that Gorag's reign is growing weaker as fewer goblins arrive in Auriga each year. This decline has raised questions among some goblins about their leader's effectiveness, but his power hasn't gone unnoticed by other races who have begun to speculate about its origins. East of Farrun lies Cove; a port city that serves as a center for the Kingdom's navy. The seas around Cove are infested with pirates who prey on merchant ships traveling through Auriga Crossing. cfa1e77820
